As evidenced by my general lack of being around, I took a longer-than-anticipated hiatus this month, which was very much needed, though it necessarily pushed back a lot of my plans. I'm still not back at a 100%, admittedly, but I'm hoping a new character will help amp up my enthusiasm for the game again. That said, I don't anticipate making reqs this month, which is far from ideal, but I think I'd rather just start off April with as clean a slate as I can manage than start a bunch of new threads with only a handful of days to go. Anyway, I'm hoping to be a stronger presence in the upcoming months; I don't care to be so unreliable, and while TR is lower on my list of priorities these days, it is still a commitment I've chosen to make, and I should honour it the same way I would any other. I just need to learn to leave some of my more micromanaging tendencies at the door, since they've been proving more hindrance than help.

For April, I don't have many concrete plans beyond trying to actually have fun here again, which will hopefully lend itself into renewed creativity. I missed out a lot of EPs this month, half because I wasn't checking the game, half because I wasn't inspired, and that's something I'd like to fix. My tentative plan is to joint-EP most of my roster on the first, which I like because it's not a typically high traffic day, gamewise, so the tag-ins will hopefully be staggered over a couple days, and not overwhelm me.

I don't really have much to say about Pete this month, truth be told, since I basically covered it all last month. It'll be his three-year anniversary in April, which gives him the distinction of being the character I've played continuously the longest. I'd like to give him an item soon, maybe, to give him some plot -- and he'll qualify for two items soon -- but there's a lot to choose from, and I'd like it to be suitably dramatic. Conversely, this month's Avenging Spider-Man reminded me of a quieter item I'd considered giving him in the past -- his old microscope and chemistry set -- which might be nice, after all the drama his circle's been through lately. Then again, the fact that the drama has been someone else's, for the most part, makes me want to give him some of his own again, which would demand a more dynamic item for him, if not just a more dynamic plot. I should probably just stop trying to fool myself that I can come up with something entirely on my own; I work better when I talk to someone. The problem is I'm online when few people are, these days, so who knows. The long and short of it is, I want to do something for his anniversary, and then something big and bombastic (likely without actual bombs) in a couple months. Maybe June. So I'll just have to sit and think on that for a bit to figure out what there is to do.

Basically, I love throwing Jamie at new arrivals, though there were a couple I unfortunately missed this month. I still have his cool noir plot that I want to do, but it needs some serious tweaking now that I've waited so long to put it into action. Otherwise, I don't have much to say. He's a steady voice, and while I could be doing more with him, I know that I tend to work in cycles, anyway.

BUCKY BARNES Captain America DOB: 26 Mar Age: 87 Since 06 Oct 2010 onlyapassenger

Man, I fell down hard on him this month; one thing I've learned with Bucky is that I really have to maintain that forward sense of momentum, and I missed at least one important EP this month, due to the aforementioned game ennui. Anyway, given that the loss of Natasha is imminent, I probably ought to figure out how he's going to react, but so far I've only got it narrowed down to 'badly.' My initial thought was to have a thread with Steve first, then put up a public EP set to later that same day, just to contain the explosion somewhat, but I'm not married to that idea yet. He might approach Stark, it occurs to me just now, re: portals, which... Could be an interesting thread, regardless of what came out of it? (Hopefully) [U]nrelated to that point, he'll probably need someone to wail on, who can actually take him (which is a narrow list -- Steve, Wolverine, possibly Jason, Cable). I don't know. A lot of stuff's up in the air still, though maybe I can use the new setting to my advantage and work out some kind of plot with the desert. But basically, the one thing I have decided is that he'll be keeping his normal arm for the plot this time around, just to give him a little break. So there's that.

He's been on the island for a year! And he has a girlfriend! So naturally they are both in fear plot, which delights me to no end, because as much as I love Waid's run on Daredevil, I pulled Matt from Bendis', and that means everything must go wrong and induce nervous breakdowns across the board. It's beautiful. He is also losing Natasha, obviously, but he's more used to the Widow coming in and out of his life than Bucky. Of mine, he is the only one who is absolutely getting his own EP, as it's fear plot related. I was going to do it this month, but I ran into an issue with how to structure it, and so it was scrapped. But, Peter will probably have a cameo appearance in it, if that's of interest to anyone, because I need someone to get punched in the EP itself for it to work. Also, I think Matt will probably spend this plot dressed up as the Two-Gun Kid, sans mask and guns, for canon reasons.

WILL MAKE A HILARIOUS COWBOY. Abigail and Anita, I want all the threads. I think that joint-EP I referenced earlier might center around Thor experimenting with a gun, actually, mostly because the thought amuses me. So much new culture to learn! Otherwise, he's got a touch of a serious plot with Aphrodite's item coming up.

So, what it boils down to is: I need to rewatch X-Men: First Class and make Charles a huge priority in April. The dude needs friends. (As does Thor, for that matter, but I feel Charles needs them more, and with The Avengers coming out in May, I already know May'll be The Month of Thor, so.) He's definitely wearing a white cowboy hat for the entire month, and... Basically, I want to tag him around, get to know people.

I missed all the Batfamily posts except for Terry's this month, which is totally inexcusable on my part, so my apologies (not least of all because it means I'm lacking for reqs). With Bruce leaving at some point in the near future (I'm kinda hoping not April, as I'd like at least another thread with him, Di, but if I'm outvoted on that, I'll go with the majority), I really have to reconsider my plans for him, inasmuch as I had plans; I don't really want to drop him, but with the absence of Bruce, Grayson, and Pennyworth, I'm genuinely not sure where to go with him. It's going to require some thinking, and it's going to require me tagging him around more, so he's also someone I want to prioritize over the next couple months. If nothing else, I need to post him with his dog, which means selecting a picture and choosing a name.

SURPRISE. If this seems like it came out of nowhere, it's because... Well, it did. Basically, I inhaled Once Upon A Time in two days and wrote an app. This has only happened to me a couple of times -- Kate Bishop and Bucky -- but writing her app totally destroyed my writer's block, it came out so easily, so... I just went with my gut, even though I was away from the game for most of the month. Opportunity knocked, I answered, yadda yadda yadda. She's someone different, she has minimal baggage, she's a girl, and she has an easily rewatchable canon; in short, she was everything I'd been looking for, and thank you everyone who's tagged her EP. Seriously, my favourite part of a new character is getting to play off new people, and I was not disappointed! (Also, I'll be getting back to all my tags tomorrow, as I have no plans outside of laundry.) As for Old West Plot... Well, she's a sheriff in canon, so that could be a fun thing. She's going to be more skeptical than ever that any of this is real with the change, granted, but she'll probably be outwardly more accepting even if she inwardly thinks y'all are crazy. I haven't played a normal character in years, so it's fun to stretch out the skepticism again.

There is no future, because a) I app whoever grabs me, it seems, so I give up on keeping a queue, and b) I have eight characters and refuse to go over nine. I can say that I'd like a teenager, as Emma still fits into my comfortable late-20s/early-30s mold, but I can also say that no teenager really interest me at present, while there are plenty of adults who do. So. There's that.
