Well, I started the month with a bang, but I'll probably go out with a whimper for reasons I don't need to get into here. That said, I'm strongly considering reworking my roster; eight isn't too many, per se, but I don't know that I can handle this particular group of eight. But I'll get into more of that later. For now let's just get this show on the road.

Pete went a little quiet on me near the middle month, which both is and isn't surprising; despite that, though, I managed to get threads with his usual stable of people, even if I'm kicking myself for missing out on his anniversary. (KICKING. MYSELF. I FEEL SO BAD ABOUT THIS) I'm actively trying to think of something action-oriented he might do timed for the end of June, but the ship's gonna sail on that thought if I don't pull an idea out of my websack in the next couple of days. If that doesn't pan out, he'll at least get an EP, but coming up with a huge, life-threatening plot for Peter Parker and friends is absolutely my number one priority for the upcoming months. It is seriously beyond time that he take center stage again. Other than that, more (current) threads with MJ, more threads with his pals, maybe meeting some new folks, etc.

JAMIE MADROX X-Factor DOB: 07 Sep Age: 32 Since 06 Jul 2009 howmanylives

Is in a play! In a very secondary sort of role, which actually gave him the realization that he's not used to playing secondary roles in life anymore, which was a fun thing for him to come to grips with (and oddly mirrors the situation in current X-Factor, with Havok). Out of this realization, he'll be putting on a production of 12 Angry Men in the fall/winter/whatever won't conflict with Geoffrey's production, since the material is right up his alley, and I have a plot for the casting process. Beyond that: he should probably get married to Layla at some point and he's coming up on his three year anniversary in July. That might be a fun day to do the wedding, actually, I will confer with Mala.

BUCKY BARNES Captain America DOB: 26 Mar Age: 87 Since 06 Oct 2010 onlyapassenger

Hilariously, Bucky's the guy I've played the most this month, and yet, all of those threads are reqs for June, so I'm gonna need to scramble to make sure he's covered for May. After a lot of wracking my brain to figure out how to do this without destroying Bucky's viability as a character, he's finally getting a Winter Soldier trigger on the 29th of June. It's sort of an odd situation, though, in that I'm most happy with everyone else's contributions to these threads than I am necessarily my own; I mean, I'm getting a kick out of writing it, of course, but I've been enjoying reading it that much more. In short, I'm incredibly glad it's going so well; I was getting to the point where I needed the reminder that I can plot successfully, and it's great to be surrounded with folks who've been so on the ball. Other things of note: Bucky'll be opted into Amnesia Plot in July, where his memory'll be reset to the day he was revived by the Soviets, meaning he'll only have his insane muscle memory and his languages -- nothing else. (Unless Amnesia Plot works differently, in which case he'll just have no memory save for his insane muscle memory and his languages.) There'll be a post in his journal for people wanting to see him in [spoiler redacted].

I've got a handful of private threads that I need to post, but otherwise, it was a quiet month for Matt. Much to his -- and my -- surprise, he got nominated for council, but he fairly rightfully didn't make it to the speeches; I don't know if that's a plot I'd like to revisit down the line, but it did give me a couple interesting threads, so it was a nice little detour from what I'd expected for the month. He's potentially got some stuff coming up in the future with Kirk, which could prove interesting, and I definitely want to give him another dose of fear plot soon. I'm also considering doing a post for his yoga class, just to give everyone a feel for his unique style.

THOR ODINSON Thor DOB: A Thursday Age: 1000+ Since 19 May 2011 havenoplans

THE AVENGERS WAS A THING OF BEAUTY. But I totally got overwhelmed between his post and Banner's arrival, so I dropped most of those threads because when I was finally ready to go back to them, it was suddenly ten days later, and the threads with Cap and Loki totally took everything out of me. He's definitely the loudest he's ever been, but he's also the most difficult of my characters to write, since his narrative doesn't come naturally to me. BUT NONE OF THAT IS IMPORTANT, BECAUSE HOLY SHIT, THINGS WENT DOWN THIS MONTH. Him and Loki are on the outs! AND WE HAVE THE CORE FOUR. I desperately, desperately, desperately want to have a thread with Thor, Banner, Cap, and Tony, though God knows why they'd ever even be in the same room. Seriously, for all the issues inherent between Cap and Tony, I think it's going to take a lot more work to get something approaching respect between folks like Tony and Thor. THINGS I NEED TO DO: put up a post for Jane (I AM SORRY FOR MY CONTINUED FAILURE, ANITA), put up a post for Cap (so he can ask about 616-Loki), go see Avengers again.

CHARLES XAVIER X-Men: First Class DOB: 02 Mar Age: 31 Since 02 Jul 2011 thebettermen

Ran for council! Had a bit more of a platform this go around, since he's done things he can point to. He also has a decent shot at winning, much to my surprise. Whether he actually will is still up in the air, obviously, but I wasn't expecting him to be in the running. The hair tends to put people off. Kind of... Willfully ignoring Erik's recent violent turn just because he was provoked; which isn't to say he isn't disappointed, because he is, but he's also responsible for the guy's therapy sessions, so he knows he's trying to do right. I need to actually EP him at some point, but he doesn't really lend himself well to EPs? I mean, his day-to-day life just isn't that interesting, which is why I don't tend to EP him, even though he's one of my easier characters to write. I should tag him around more, maybe. Also, he needs to get laid, dude's basically been a monk. He's absolutely not looking for a relationship, but his preference seems to run toward women who aren't aggressively sexual. Free love's okay, 'nice shoes, let's fuck' not so much. He'd rather be amiable than used.

DAMIAN WAYNE Batman and Robin DOB: 13 Oct Age: 10 Since 28 Sep 2011 aworthyone

I don't know. I'm gonna give him the ol' college try for at least another month -- and I've got an EP that I am gonna get up this weekend come hell or high water -- since it's not like I'm lacking in ideas, but without a parental figure to really ground him, he's just difficult to write. I'll be disappointed if I have to drop him, because I genuinely the love character, but I'm just not sure it's working. He needs to be violent, but he's not in Gotham; it's a hard balance to strike.

EMMA SWAN Once Upon A Time DOB: 23 Oct Age: 28 Since 25 Mar 2012 thebestchance

AKA, the girl who took a gun to swordfight. I love her. The finale had me cheering like a fiend. I have absolutely no idea what to do with her on the Island. I just... I don't know. She's another one who's just... Hard to write. It's not for a lack of canonmates, since Manda and Carly are both great, but I just have ZERO idea what to do with her, despite being relatively certain that I had ideas before I submitted the app. I don't know. She's another one where it'd really suck to drop her, but I just never get the urge to post her, and she's brand spanking new, which is... Not the greatest of signs. Ugh. Lousy way to finish.

Future: Dependent on drops and new canon, in order of likelihood, the not-so-secret queue remains the same: Jennifer Walters (app pretty much done, just a matter of timing), Kate Bishop (app started, submission entirely dependent on the upcoming Hawkeye series by Fraction), and Doctor Nemesis (not incredibly likely, because he's outside my wheelhouse in terms of being pure crack, but I do love the man and his starfish). I'd LOVE to app John Reese from Person of Interest, but I don't know what the heck I could do with him that I can't with Bucky, so he's kind of a longshot. I think what I could really use right about now is someone who'd actually like the Island, to switch things up a bit, but I've yet to run into one of those. Maybe Kate'll qualify, who knows. For the moment, though, I'm not in any rush to app anyone else. Despite my best efforts, my activity just hasn't been solid enough for me to feel comfortable bringing another character on board.

1. IT'S TOTALLY OKAY. I've been so much slower than I wanted to be this month anyway, so it's totally cool. I'm just going to continue tagging Jane's EP thread until you get to a place where you can put a post-Loki start up, and then we can shift focus? I need to get caught up on the Loki thread and then I need to sit down and try to more firmly plan out Jane's fear plot arc, so I'll probably be emailing you guys about that soon.

2. Shari would like it on the record that she is sort of trying to help Charles get laid. She's drunk, so it's not terribly convincing, but she's at least attempting to help this cause. XD

I pretty much want all your pups for mine, as always, but more specifically:

-Jamie & Castle and the adaptation which I have no actual timing on, but I'd like it to happen, maybe even as a workshop. I do know I want them to hang around and discuss being engaged to incredibly awesome women.

-I, too, am in love with reading all the private stuff with Bucky's plot. Even if you guys make me doubt what my eyes see.

-Would that I had a pup who could help out Charles, but one's gay and one's Sarah Connor, which is really going to lead to the same place. Meanwhile, Erik is throwing looks of disdain in Charles' direction, but this is the guy who has not had sex in years and years. Cuddling is not conducive to vengeance.

-re: Emma, I need to email about homeplot, but I'm starting to see a more definitive shape to it that will involve a quest because it's Fairytale Land. It needs quests. And I imagine it might still be the lack of believing? I know that Nolan was a lot harder to play than Charming has been, simply because it's all that normal before the crazy comes flooding in. I also agree, re: IPD, she should definitely do that.
