With a sigh that's equal parts exasperated and exhausted, I lift our intertwined hands, brushing my lips against her fingers before I let go, and move towards the bed. Even in sitting down, though, I can't relax, every muscle just as tense as before. I draw my knees up to my chest, wrapping my arms around my legs. My toes tap in a nervous beat against the edge of the bed.
